The schools we provide work books for are the two rural schools in the Lukenya area, the Samburu village in the north, and the Maasai village schools in Amboseli.
This program has been going on for a number of years. We purchase the books in Nairobi and disperse them as we travel on our safari with clients.
This program has been met with great happiness from the schools, as they do not receive a lot of funds from the government, because they are in the rural areas. This we feel is a way of providing each child with his/her own work books for composition and math. Which they are very proud of, without the books, they would be learning with looking at what the teacher writes on the black board and also without the books, they would be learning with looking at what the teacher writes on the black board and also without the opportunity to practice handwriting or work out a math problem. In these schools they learn English, Swahili and their local native language of Kamba.
