ITEMS OF PERSONAL HYGIENE FOR SCHOOL PDF Print Email

This is rural school, with about 200 plus students. Some of the girls are at the puberty age so some of the personal hygiene items are need for the young ladies.

For the young boys in this school, we have picked up soap for cleaning themselves and also cleaning of their clothing.

This school Head Master was so concerned about the young girls in his school having to leave home in the mornings before dawn, some of them were raped on the way to school. The principal and the parents have come up with a boarding type of situation for them. They are housed in the classroom at night with mattress's on the floor. This is the only way he could protect them, since they had to be in school by eight in the morning, which meant they had to leave home by six in the morning. This has worked out well, but has put a burden on the school as to having the supplies to give them food each day. Their food comes usually from USAID in the form of rice and beans, then the parents cook the meals, it may be the only meal they get a day. So they are very thankful for what they get.

Woni Safaris and Vision Adventure Safaris visited here last year and left them with some supplies for the students, such as mattress's, cooking oil, sanitary napkins, soap, rice, beans, and other staples for the students.
